Carlos Quintana (Havana, 1966)

Graduated as a painter from the San Alejandro Academy in Havana.

Quintana's painting is spontaneous, intuitive and transgressive, and it's characterized by its originality and uniqueness. With a passion for the fantastical, his technique is unconventional.  His paintings are generally bright in color; shades of yellow, blue, red and green are a common device used to contextualize his characters. The brush marks are expressive, blending the various tones and emphasizing the narrative.

Carlos Quintana's artwork is part of the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art of the Berardo Museum, Lisbon, Portugal.
